John Taylor Cooper (Jack), age 86, died on May 12, 2019 in Winter Park, FL. He was a 1949 graduate of Bainbridge H.S.
He went on to become a Naval Aviator and soon after joined the Marine Corps as a pilot. While on leave in Thomasville, GA, where his father served as the local minister, he met and fell in love with his wife of 62 years, Sissy Neel. Together they moved to Atlanta, GA where he earned his degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech. They moved to Winter Park FL in 1966 and Jack pursued a career in the textbook sales industry. In his retirement years he worked part time at Universal Studios until he was 85.
Jack lived a fulfilling life as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, husband and friend. He loved playing his harmonica, feeding the squirrels, his church men’s group, serving at the Russell Home and mostly spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Sissy, their son, John Cooper (Michele), Their daughter, Kitty Kovic (Chris). Five grandchildren, Kyle Beach (Stephanie), Kelli Bautista (David), Alex Cooper, Sydney Cooper and Ali Richeson. As well as three great grandchildren, Sophia, Jordan and Presley. He is also survived by, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Olin and Emily Cooper and his siblings, Olin Jr, Joel, Velma, Dorothy, and twin sister Joanne.
A celebration of life will take place at Asbury United Methodist Church. On Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2pm located at 220 W. Horatio Ave. Maitland, Fl., 32751.
