Chris Healy Joseph Christopher Healy of Mount Dora passed away on January 20th, after an 11-year battle with cancer. Chris was born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1958. He lived in Eau Gallie from 1968- 1979. He graduated from Eau Gallie High School and attended FSU. Chris worked in the hotel and hospitality industry for many years in managerial positions at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront, Peabody Orlando, Peabody Memphis, Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Buena Vista Palace. In 1998, Chris established Echo Expo, a convention service business which provided staging and decorating services for tradeshows throughout the country. Echo Expo was acquired by Arata Expositions, Inc. and Chris served as Vice-President and General Manager of its Florida based operations. Chris’ clients included many national tradeshows, most notably the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) and United Rentals. He retired in 2017. Chris enjoyed travel, boating, FSU football and crooning a bawdy ballad. Chris loved his four dogs, Hunter, Jesse, Sophie and Oreo. Sadly, Chris was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Dottie. He is survived by his sister, Janis Petrie; brother, Patrick Healy; four nieces, Elizabeth Dopira, Erin Petrie, Kathleen Healy and Colleen Petrie; and one nephew, Brendan Healy. He is also survived by his step daughter, Leah Germain. A memorial mass for Chris will be offered Saturday, February 10th at 9:30 am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Winter Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The American Cancer Society.
