Marie C. Borno age 85, of Orlando, Fl., passed away May 26, 2017. Mrs. Borno was born April 11, 1932 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the daughter of the late Maurice & Germaine (Saurel) Nau. Marie studied in Spain, she worked for the Embassy of Spain in Haiti as a special assistant to the ambassador. She received the Lazo de Dama Award, the highest award that can be given to a civilian by the Spanish government.  Marie emigrated to the United States with her family in 1969, first living in New York City, then Mendham New Jersey where she resided until the passing of her husband. Marie later moved to Morristown, New Jersey. Prior to her retirement she was an executive secretary for a pharmaceutical company, she also taught French, and Spanish while living in New Jersey.  Marie retired to Oviedo, Florida in 2004. She was very devoted and  active in volunteer work with the Catholic Church; she helped to prepare immigrants for their citizenship test, she also served as a Eucharistic Minister, she also took a pilgrimage to Italy trip with St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in 2008. Marie was very social and had a large group of friends, she enjoyed political debates. Marie had a big sweet tooth, and enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Borno was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert Borno in 1987, brother Gerard Nau, and son-in-law Arno Dillenseger in 2005. She is survived by her children Dominique Dillenseger, Jean-Robert Borno, Caroline (Harry) Dingess, and Olivier Borno.; brother Alix (Farid) Nau, grandchildren Jeffrey Ribeiro, Andrew Borno, Adam Borno, Anthony Borno, Derek Dingess, Kelly (Steven) Meyer, Cameron Borno, Skyler Borno, Robert Borno, Ireland Goheen. She is also survived by one great grandchild Sebastian Meyer, additional family members Nichole Cameron, Lillian Emm, Gabi Georgescu, Lance Ribeiro, and her beloved Chihuahua Rocky. The family will be receiving friends Friday, June 2, 2017 from 12:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM at Collison Family Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 PM at St.'s Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Flowers are accepted or donations to the following: Catholic Charities , St. Josephs Oratoire , Global Solace , or to Beyond Borders Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date, Marie will be buried with her husband Robert in Mendham, New Jersey.
